In 2001 Hannes established a breeding heard of Nyala’s on his game farm near Gravelotte. In the same year he also bought his first Sable genetics. He diversified his breeding species to include Cape Buffalo on the farm Kapiri Ranch in Limpopo.

The first Sable was purchased in 2011/2012. The first 6 generations that were bred on the farm, are all derived from pure West - Zambian bulls which were selected from the best bloodlines that are available in Southern Africa. Phenotypic markers correlated with horn length are taken into account in selection decisions.

Sustainable horn growth and horn structure after 4 years of age on a Sable is the most important characteristic that are enhanced and integrated into our program.

Known bulls like Tsunami , Dynamite , Charlie , Nike , Madala , Lomba , Blackjack and Piet progeny form the basis of our breeding herds.

The biggest challenge for the future is "Genetic Variation " which is restricted by the ban on the import of good genetic animals from other African countries.
